FEMALE INTIMATE CARE

Welcome back to my blog. This is a very sensitive issue that most women shy away from.

The female intimate area is  very sensitive and if adequate care is not administered it may cease to function well. Problems such as itchiness, vaginal discharge and odour, mild rash and others may occur from time to time.

For a vagina to function normally it requires the perfect pH of 3.5 to 4.5 and issues like sex (both protected and unprotected), menstrual blood, certain under garments, poor hygiene, bad diet, certain lubricants and certain medication may lead to vaginal imbalance thereby resulting in the above mentioned problems.

The female intimate area has its own good bacteria and if those are disturbed problems occur.  Here are some of the things that women do that cause vaginal imbalance:-

  • DOUCHING
Although you might have heard that douching does a thorough cleaning of your kitty, a lot of professionals in the medical business debunked that theory. The opposite is in fact true. Douching removes the good bacteria that fights germs  giving room for bad bacteria to manifest thereby leading to vaginal imbalance and problems.
  • HOT WATER
Washing your intimate area with hot water will only do more harm than good. The hot water will also kill the good bacteria of the vagina leaving only the bad.

  • SOAP
A vagina should never be washed with soap as many soaps contain detergents that may ruin the vagina's natural state in the long run.

  • UNDERGARMENTS
Some non cottony undergarments are less breathable and may cause vaginal problems. Also wet undergarments lead to vaginal problems as well.

  • BAD HYGIENE
Bad hygiene in general is not good for the female intimate area or anything at all. The moment you do not wash your vagina well or do not change undergarments daily you give room for problems to occur. Leaving sanitary wear on for too long is also a bad practice that can lead to vaginal imbalance and problems.

  • LUBRICANTS
Certain oil based lubricants damage the natural flow of the vagina. Only natural or water based lubricants are advised. Ladies and gentleman, petroleum jelly, baby oil, massage oil and etc are NOT LUBRICANTS. They may seem to do the job well but end up doing more harm than good.

  • WIPING
The way you wipe your you-know-what after doing number 2 matters more than you know. Please do wipe from front (i.e from the vagina) to the back (i.e the anus) and not the other way. WHY? Well because wiping from the anus to the vagina may result in some fecal matter to enter into the vagina thereby causing odour, discharge and itchiness.

  • HAIR REMOVING CREAMS
Hair removing creams are bad news, rather shave or make use of waxing instead.

WHAT TO DO TO HAVE A CLEAN AND PROBLEM FREE VAGINA :-

  • DO NOT DOUCHE AT ALL AT ALL

  • Ditch the soap and wash with a soap free vaginal wash. Gynaguard has been the best for me so far. You can substitute the vaginal wash with soda or apple cider vinegar. 2 tablespoons of either in 5litres of water.

  • WASH WITH COLD WATER

  • Pee before and after intercourse to get rid of bacteria. Also wash before and after intercourse for the same effect.

  • Wipe the vagina after peeing, it should always stay dry

  • You are what you eat so if you eat well your vagina will thank you and if you don't it will rebel against you.

  • Make sure that your vagina is dry at all times by wiping well after bathing and peeing.

  • DRINK A LOT OF WATER AND MAKE SURE TO DETOX FROM TIME TO TIME

  • Wash your vagina at least twice a day

  • Air circulation is very important and it is okay to move around without your panty sometimes.

  • Drink cranberry juice and also eat pineapples

  • Invest in more cotton undergarments

  • Always remove pubic hair by shaving or waxing

If problems like odour and discharge occur you can counter them by doing the following :-

  1. Drink a quater of soda  in warm to hot water in morning to balance the pH and get rid of odour and discharge.
  2. Wash with soda or apple cider vinegar
  3. Drink cranberry juice and also eat pineapples
  4. Invest in a very good vaginal wash like gynaguard
  5. Wash your vagina with natural yoghurt
  6. Take 2 garlic cloves with warm water in the morning and insert 2 peeled garlic cloves into your vagina over night. Garlic is a natural antibiotic that can get rid of any funny business your vagina may be up to.
  7. VISIT YOUR DOCTOR IF PROBLEMS PERSIST

A clean vagina is a happy vagina.
